Important!!!
These settings only apply to email addresses hosted by Ashland Home Net.
If you use a web-based mail service (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) you will need to obtain the proper settings from them.


Mac Mail 

These screenshots are from Mac Mail, included with OS 10.9 Mavericks.
If you are using a previous version, it should be similar, but some screens might not look exactly the same.

Step 1

  • In Mail, click the Mail menu at the top, and select Preferences...


 

Step 2

  • Click Accounts then Click the + in the lower-left corner.


 

Step 3

  • Click "Add Other Mail Account..."
  • Click Continue
Note * If you can't remember your password give us a call or email us and we will help you reset the password.
 


 

Step 4

  • Fill in the boxes with your name and email address.
  • The password is the password you gave us when we created the account.
  • Click Create

Step 5

  • This next screen it will just let you know that the account needs to be setup manually.
  • Click Next


 

Step 6

  • The account type will be IMAP.
  • Fill in the information for your incoming server.
The server is going to be your last part of your email address (called the domain) but instead of you email@domain.net or .com it will be mail.domain.net or .com  See the list below for some examples
Note* For @opendoor.com, and custom domains previously hosted by Open Door Networks, the incoming server is mailx.opendoor.com.

  • This is a warning that mac mail has.
  • Click Continue


Step 8

  • Fill in the information for your SMTP server.

Final step click the red dot in the upper-left to close the Mail Preferences and your done.
