AFN Approved Cable Modems

AFN tests all modems proposed for use on it's network so that we may provide the highest level of support. All DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) modems are not created equal, and we have actually disapproved several during testing due to support issues.

The current list of approved Cable Modems is as follows:

    * Motorola SB61XX series
    * Motorola SB52XX series
    * Motorola SB51XX series

This list is not inclusive, and DOCSIS compliant modems that are not on the list should work equally well on the Ashland Fiber Network. This list does NOT certify the ability of any given modem to perform.   AFN does not warranty or otherwise guarantee the performance levels or technological obsolescence of any devices.  Please see your modem manufacturer's paperwork for any warranty information.  AFN will make every effort to maintain compatibility with older devices as it upgrades it's network but makes no (zero, none) warranty to that effect.

Last Updated 11/12/2012

If you have questions about this list or would like to have AFN evaluate other modems for use on our network please contact us, however please be aware that it takes us a minimum of a month to evaluate a new modem.

To learn more about purchasing an AFN-approved cable modem and ethernet device, review our Modem Lease and Purchase information.
