Become a CEER

CEER

A couple of years ago our new owner, Jim Teece, created the CEER program. CEER is an acronym for Community Event Embedded Reporter. He worked closely with Alan Oppenheimer of OpenDoor Networks to setup and provide the infrastructure.

There are a handful of CEERs in the community. You can see their work live and on replay on Ashland's TV 20 and AshlandTv20.com. We were proudly showing the Martin Luther King day event held at the armory and the first ever live webcast/broadcast from OSF's IVP (Informed Volunteer Program).

The success of the CEER program has been realized and requests for a CEER are coming in from all over Ashland. If you would like to be trained on becoming a CEER please email Jim at Jim@ProjectA.com. There is no charge to become a volunteer and receive training.

If you have your own laptop and digital hand held camera it makes it easier, but it's not required.  We currently have CEER's setup using Apple laptops and Digital Movie Cameras. Wireless hotspots in most event venues provide the network. We are working on a PC version of the CEER setup as well.

If you have an event you would like to see if a CEER volunteer can attend, send Jim an email at Jim@ProjectA.com and we will try to schedule one for you.
