New Owners - Still Local, Still Great!

Dena and Jim
Jim Teece & Dena Matthews, Co-Founders and Managing Partners of Project A, Inc., an Ashland based Software Development and Internet Business Website Developer and Hosting Service, have signed an agreement with Gary Nelson, President and Owner of Ashland Home Net and Ashland TV to acquire the company effective immediately.

"Gary Nelson has done an outstanding job in growing Ashland Home Net and partnering with the city to provide television services on the Ashland Fiber Network," states Jim Teece. "I was very excited to work directly with him this summer when we launched Channel 20, and it was during that time that I heard Gary was thinking about retiring in a few years, and I grew very excited about the potential of building upon the strong foundation Gary has developed. The timing is perfect."

"I've been very proud of our company and our clients," states Gary Nelson. "But it's time for me to start thinking about retirement before I get too old to enjoy it. When Jim and I sat down to see if this would work I became very happy knowing that it would be Jim's energy and passion that will help take our company to the next level."

"I'm thrilled to see this happen," states Joe Franell, City of Ashland Information Technology Director and person in charge of the Ashland Fiber Network, "On behalf of the City of Ashland and the Ashland Fiber Network I offer congratulations to Jim Teece and Dena Matthews. We are excited about what this means for our citizens and are very happy with Gary's decision to sell to a local couple who are already part of the Ashland Fiber Network family. We look forward to working with them to continue to deliver high levels of customer service and great products to our citizens."

What to expect in the immediate future:

  1. No Staff Changes. Gary will stay on for up to 20 months to lead the excellent team he has developed.

  2. No Price Increases.

  3. No Name Changes. Ashland Home Net and Project A will stay separate companies.

  4. New websites with service status, feedback forms, online help and news and information about the community.
